THIS IS TWO DIFFERENT LIT REVIEWS 

In this assignment you will critically review 8 to 11 recent (past 10 years) scholarly articles (peer reviewed preferred) in a minimum of 5 to 7 pages. This assignment is derived from the subject matter in your weekly assigned reading, the overall construct of leadership, and/or the concepts of criminal justice leadership.  You may wish to spend some time researching critical review techniques for journal articles prior to starting this assignment. At a minimum, you should pay particular attention to the identification of the premise and supporting points of the articles, a synthesis of the articles, and a critical evaluation of the premise(s) supporting points, and/or the competing points of the articles. The paper must follow current APA guidelines. The page count does not include the title page, abstract, reference section, or any extra material. See grading rubric for additional guidance in the formation of your work. You should follow the article focus prompts in this instruction set and rubric closely. 

Remember to purpose of these literature reviews are to broaden your knowledge on leadership and to prepare you for your dissertation literature review. 

Journal Article/Literature Review 1 should be on the topic of transformational leadership. 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this module, you will be able to:

• Describe transformational leadership.
• Explain how transformational leadership works.
• Analyze transformational leadership through the lens of recent relevant journals.
• Discuss the strengths and criticisms of transformational leadership.
• Describe authentic leadership.
• Analyze authentic with respect to strengths and weaknesses.

Journal Article/Literature Review 2 should be on the topic of servant leadership or any/all aspect(s) of The Leadership Challenge by Kouzes and Posner. 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this module, you will be able to:

• Analyze the term servant leadership through the use of recent relevant journal articles.
• Explain how servant leadership works.
• Discuss the strengths and criticisms of servant leadership.
• Recognize applications of servant leadership.

  There have been many books written on Transformational Leadership and Authentic Leadership. The use of Transformational Leadership may be a good way to create positive change in an organization.  Authentic Leadership, one of the newer leadership theories, is a little difficult to define and measure.  We will look at Practice One in Kouzes and Posner’s The Leadership Challenge and start to envision how these concepts intersect Authentic Leadership and Transformational Leadership.
