assessment results and lre continuum

According to the assessment report you reviewed in Week 2, Henry will frequently look around the room before participating in whole-group activities, copying what his peers are doing, so not to be embarrassed that he does not understand the learning material or what is being asked.  Mr. Franklin and you have observed this same documented behavior in multiple instances during classroom instruction and other activities.  Because he has never been a behavior problem or disruptive, you are afraid that Henry’s introverted nature will cause him to fall further behind as has lack of progress goes unnoticed.  It has been determined that Henry has a learning disability, which negatively impacts his reading comprehension and ability to organize his thoughts on paper.

Initial Post: Create an initial post using the results from the evaluation process presented in the Instructor Guidance as well as course information listed in the Required and Recommended Resources.  Conduct a review of Henry’s assessment report and his background you created last week.  Explain to IEP team which academic setting you believe is Henry’s Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).  Be sure to justify your decision with information you’ve read in the text, the week’s reading assignments and independent research.

Research the assessment strategies and current assessment results

Research the assessment strategies and current assessment results from the school district in which you currently reside or teach. You will need to find information on the types of assessments used, when students are assessed, the policy for student accommodations, the test results for the past few years, and anything that the district is doing to address improving student scores and achieving state standards.

Use the Internet to research one topic from the list of recommendations the superintendent provided or your own approved topic. Justify your topic selection by highlighting its relevance to your chosen district being able to successfully meet its K–12 assessment goals. Your research should also focus on locating current issues, applications, assessment strategies, and tools related to your selected topic.

Write a 5–7 page paper in which you:

  1. Propose your research topic in which you detail its relevance to meeting one or more K–12 assessment goals in your chosen school district, focusing on a specific grade level, discipline, or target student population (gifted students, students with special needs, traditionally underserved students, etc.).
  2. Examine at least three key political, legal, and/or current issues related to your chosen topic.
  3. Describe at least three specific needs of the students in the school district including students with special learning needs.
  4. Propose at least three applications your topic has to K–12 assessment in your chosen school district.
  5. Provide at least four sources that document detailed information about your proposed topic. The sources must be written within the last five years.

Write a 2- to 3-paragraph analysis of your results and include a copy and paste of the appropriate visual display of the data into your document. Based on the results of your data, provide a brief explanation of what the implications for social change mig

5- to 6-page synthesis in which you detail the process and results

Submit a 5- to 6-page synthesis in which you detail the process and results for your small-scale qualitative research project. Your synthesis should include the following components:

  • Background of the Problem
  • Research Problem
  • Interview Questions
  • Data Collection (Interview Transcripts)
  • Data Analysis (Coding and Theme Analysis)
  • Presentation of Findings
  • Conclusion
  • References (in APA format)

To prepare for this Assignment, consider the process by which you chose and conducted your interviews, including any inisights gained through the coding and theme analysis process. How does the analysis impact your perspective of the chosen business problem, and how would you change your interview questions if you were to replicate this project?

Using the results of assessment

Use attachment to help

The purpose of assessment is to improve the teaching and learning process and to establish accountability, that is, to provide evidence that we are accomplishing what we claim to be accomplishing—educating students (or trainees). you were introduced to the process of evaluation of that data in order to use “assessment information to make an informed judgment” (Suskie, 2018, p. 12). Using and citing the readings, what strategies will you propose in your Assessment and Evaluation of Learning Plan? Limit your recommendations to 5–7 strategies. Distinguish whether the strategies you propose address one or more of the following:

  1. Improvements to the assessment process itself (including the appropriateness of the learning goal statements).
  2. Improvements to the teaching, learning, or training process. (Use caution here; just one set of assessment data is not necessarily sufficient to determine what changes might be appropriate.)
  3. Improvements to the action plan of strategies to develop the assessment effort before or during its implementation (recall your work in Unit 6).
  4. Improvements to involving stakeholders more effectively.
  5. Improvements to the means of interpreting and using the assessment data.
  6. Other factors that you see as important for improvement and accountability.

Provide citations from the readings for the information that you use in your post.  Tip: You might want to use bullet points or a list format for some or all of this component instead of fully developed paragraphs.

Presenting statistical results for decision making (no plagiarism)

The ability to translate analytic results into clear, concise, and actionable results is a vital skill for health care administrators. Because decision making is increasingly data-driven and evidence-based, managers are frequently required to formally present statistical results to leadership. Sometimes, decision makers differ as to how well they comprehend the information being delivered. Your job as a health care professional is to know how to distill and synthesize data analytics and present complex concepts in the pursuit of value, quality, and safety. You must be able to clearly communicate the results of your team’s data analysis and it should be both insightful and informative. How much your work is valued can depend heavily on how well the results of that analysis are articulated. Effectively communicating the results so the issues and recommendations are clear and explicit can greatly enhance the value of your analytic work.

For this assignment, you will evaluate the approach of an analytics team and interpret and present statistical results to support a health care recommendation.

Review the Vila Health: Presenting Statistical Results for Decision Making simulation to evaluate, interpret, and present statistical results to support a health care recommendation.

This assignment has two deliverables:

  1. Prepare an 8–10-slide PowerPoint presentation about the statistical results with recommendations to health system leadership.
    • Ensure the slides graphically communicate the findings.
    • Ensure your presentation is relevant to and easily understood by everyone in the audience.
      • Include an APA-formatted references slide at the end of the presentation.
      • Be sure your written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
    • Use Kaltura or similar software to record your PowerPoint presentation. The presentation should last no more than 3 minutes, and it should contain audio of you speaking. You may use alternative programs or technology, provided you can still create a presentation with visuals and recorded audio.
      • Before you begin recording, create a script, speaker notes, or a detailed outline that you can refer to as you record. This professional best practice will help you prepare for your presentation and serve to clarify any insufficient or unclear audio in your recording.
  2. Write a 2–4-page executive summary to accompany the PowerPoint presentation that provides additional context to the results of data analysis.
    • Include APA-formatted in-text citations where appropriate.

Submit the recording of your presentation and the executive summary in the assignment area.

What do manuel’s results mean?

As a special educator you must be able to interpret the results of assessments in order to make sound recommendations for appropriate accommodations and interventions.  In order to do this you must understand the patterns of the disability you are working with and you must know how to interpret the results of the assessments and evaluations so that you can draw accurate conclusions.

Using support from the required readings, the Instructor Guidance, supplemental information derived from the discussions and outside sources, and information from the scenario described below, you will write a 3 page paper describing what you think Manuel’s results mean and the strategies you think will help him to better succeed in school.

Scenario: The Evaluation Committee (EC) is preparing to meet for the purpose of reviewing all assessment results that have been conducted for Manuel.  They will also be reading your Evaluation Summary.  You are confident the team is going to find that Manuel has an educational disability and that it is adversely affecting his educational performance.  You and Mr. Franklin note that the assessment prepared by the school psychologists suggests that Manuel has dyslexia, a type of learning disability affecting reading and writing skills.

Neither you nor Mr. Franklin know very much about this common language-based learning disorder and you both decide to do a little research on the topic in preparation for the upcoming Individualized Education Program team meeting.  You and Mr. Franklin are looking both for specific strategies that can be implemented unobtrusively in the classroom, and for more focused strategies that will take place outside of the classroom setting.  You also want to have some resources for Manuel and his parents so there can consistency between the home and school settings.

As you learn more, you and Mr. Franklin begin to suspect that Manuel is not the only one of your students who may be dyslexic and you plan to talk to the Chair of the Special Education department about finding and using a screening instrument for all students in school so that children may receive the appropriate intervention earlier.

This assignment requires that you use Manuel’s assessment results to learn more about his specific learning disability so that you can provide appropriate accommodations and interventions.  You will explore dyslexia and how the symptoms manifest to significantly impact a child’s education.  You will also provide research-based recommendations for strategies to support Manuel in being more successful in school. Interpreting assessment result to identify a student’s strengths and areas of need are skills that will be used in this task and as your move into the real-world workforce.

Use the instructions below for the content and written communication expectations.  Before submission, review your assignment using the Grading Rubric to ensure it meets the expectations for distinguished performance.  If you have questions about the assignment or the rubric, please contact your Instructor using the “Ask Your Instructor” discussion before the due date.

Content Expectations:
For this assignment, write a 3 page paper with the following components:
