1. review the following request from a customer: we have a need to | BA 312 Organizational Behavior | Campbellsville University

1. Review the following request from a customer:

We have a need to replace the aging Signage Application. This application is housed in District 4 and serves the district as well as two other districts. We would like a new application that can be used statewide to track all information related to road signs. The current system is old and doesn’t do most of what we need it to. The current system has a whole bunch of reports, but no way for the user to update them by themselves without getting IT involved. We also can’t create our own reports, on-demand, when we need to. Currently, data is entered into the application manually by Administrative Staff, but in the future, we would like to be able to take a picture of the road sign using a phone app, and have it automagically populate the database with geospatial location and other information. We thought about having a Smart Watch interface, but we don’t need that. Also, the current method does not have any way to manage the quality of the data that is entered, so there is a lot of garbage information there. There is no way to centrally manage security access, with the existing application. We want to get real time alerts when a sign gets knocked over in an accident and have a dashboard that shows where signs have been knocked over across the state. This is kind of important, but not super-critical. We need to store location information, types of signs, when a new sign is installed, who installed it, etc. We plan to provide the phone app to drivers in each district who will drive around, take pictures of the signs, and upload them to the database at the end of each day, or in realtime, if a data connection is available. Back in Central Office, reviewers will review the sign information and validate it. A report will be printed every month with the results and a map. There are probably other things, but we can’t think of anything else right now.

2. List the main goal(s) of this request

3. Write all the user stories you see (include value statements and acceptance criteria, if possible)

4. Prioritize the user stories as

a. Critical

b. Important

c. Useful

d. Out of Scope

5. Are the user stories sufficiently detailed? If not, what steps would you take to split them/further define them?

6. What are the known Data Entities?

7. Is there an implied business process? Draw an activity diagram or a flow chart of it

8. Who are the actors/roles?

9. What questions would you ask of the stakeholders to get more information?

10. What technology should be used to implement the solution?

11. What would you do next as the assigned Business Analyst working on an Agile team?

How would you describe the schools of ethical thought?

This posting should be at least 250 words.

You need to reply to this post (150 words minimum)

In my reading, there are three primary schools of thought in contemporary Ethics, namely: (1) Consequentialism; (2) Deontology; and (3) Virtue Ethics.

It has different tactics and heads. The main idea is that morality is not based on rules, goodwill, or goals, but on our actions. consequences. It’s basically good happiness or happiness. For example, the benefits of being good for the maximum number are visible.

Morality has various types of government ethics. The main idea is that morality is based on rules, good intentions, and goals. As long as the human heart is in the right place, the consequences are irrelevant. Great goodness is obedience to rules or divine laws, whether it brings joy or pain. Religion is usually religion. Morality is a new kind of ethics. This role is a measure of all morality, and the main concept is that it is easy for everyone, including children. Unethical and broken promises are permanent. Morality depends on that (Aristotle, (2016)).

For those who defend justice, believe that if someone lives with practical intelligence, he can achieve a goal, or at least a goal of personal pleasure, sometimes referred. One is to live in harmony with the essence of man. There are four classic or core virtues: caution intelligence, justice strength (courage), and the same (self-control). These are clearly tested in Plato’s work. There are also three famous theological attributes in religion: faith, hope and love. Other attributes, such as perfection, respect, custody commitments, honesty, and citizenship, are usually described as multiplication and citizenship. In addition, we can add to the quality of the ‘five leaders’ with good and greatness, humility and determination to identify and expel (Aristotle, (2016)).

Ethics play a vital role in our societies and organizations at large. Ethics has contributed significantly to order, harmony and peace among people today. Organizational ethical on the other hand has helped organizations a great deal in establishing stable work environment and culture to help bring unity among the employees and employers hence making the organization more successful (Little & Little, 2018). Different people came up with various ethical perspectives which are today being used. These ethical schools include.

Consequentialism-This school of ethics propagated that ethical behavior could be determined by looking at the consequences that follow from the actions of an individual or a group of people. This, therefore, means that one cannot have the definition of what is ethical or not based on the action alone but taking the repercussions of the actions to make the final judgment about the action. This is one of the oldest ethical schools and was used for an extended period to determine the4 actions of individuals.

Deontological school of ethics the personal views and virtues. According to this school what is ethical or not is determined from an individual’s perspective. However, it was criticized based on the fact that people can act in a certain way that is considered evil and justify themselves that according to them it is ethical. This would result in chaos since each person has the freedom to act as he wants and defend himself.

Virtue ethics-This the last school of ethics and focuses on establishing universal moral principles that can be used to determine what is ethical or not (Kupperman, 2016). This school of ethics is one of the most commonly used today by individuals and organizations since they help establish a universally accepted code of conducts. Therefore, which of the above is the best school of ethics?

RFID CASE STUDY

People love sports statistics and the more the better.  Responding to this customer demand, the NFL increased the quality and quantity of statistics available to coaches and fans with radio frequency identification (RFID) chips.

Player RFID Project

When the 2015 National Football League played its first game in New England, each player was equipped with a set of RFID sensors.  Each sensor, about the size of a quarter, is embedded in players’ shoulder pads and remits a unique radio frequency.  Every stadium used by the NFL is equipped with 20 receivers to pick up the RFID signals and pinpoint every player on the field.  It also records speed, distance traveled, acceleration in real time, and the direction the player is facing.

The NFL plans to use the data it collects to power an Xbox One and Windows NFL apps to allow fans to call up stats for each player tied into the highlight clips posted on the app.  The data will also be fed to broadcasters, leveraged for in-stadium displays, and provided to coaching staff and players.

“We’ve always had these traditional NFL stats,” says Matt Swensson, senior director of Emerging Products and Technology at the NFL.  “The league has been very interested in trying to broaden that and bring new statistics to the fans.  Along the way, there’s been more realization about how the data can be leveraged to make workflow more efficient around the game.”

Zebra Technologies Software Vendor

The NFL’s technology partner in its IoT push was Zebra Technologies of Lincolnshire, Illinois.

Zebra was well known for its manufacturing and selling, marking, tracking, and printing technologies such as thermal barcode label and receipt printers, RFID smart label printer/encoders, and card and kiosk printers.  As it moved into IoT and M2M applications, Zebra launched its MotionWorks Sports Solution, which powers the NFL IoT initiative.  Zebra was able to develop RFID tags that blink up to 85 times per second to track motion of athletes in subseconds.  Then it had to find a customer for the product—so it turned to the biggest fish in the pond—the NFL.  Zebra trialed the tags by equipping more than 2,000 players, 18 NFL stadiums and officials, markers, and pylons.  Over the course of the season, more than 1.7 billion sets of XY player coordinates were measured, transmitted, and stored during the games.  Every stadium was connected to a command station in San Jose, California, that controls when the data are collected, where they are sent, and stores them in the cloud.

The Need for the Right People

An important lesson that Zebra learned is that generic data scientists weren’t sufficient to gain insight into the data.  Zebra needed football experts.  “When you look at analytics in football, you really need people.  We had to go out and hire football people.  The analytics from manufacturing weren’t the same as the analytics from football.  We could see correlations in the data that seemed important and then found out they weren’t.  We had to bring in people that had the football expertise who could say, ‘Look, this is why it matters’,” said Jill Stelfox, Zebra Technologies Vice President and General Manager, Location Solutions.

The latest development in this IoT initiative is its integration with NFL’s fantasy football offerings.

QUESTIONS TO ANSWER (60 words each)

1.       Why did NFL equip its players with RDIF tags?

2.      What factors contributed to the success of the IoT initiative at the NFL?

3.      What other types of IoT applications can you think of that could be used in sports stadiums?

4.      Is it ethical to insert the RFID tags into the players?  Why or why not?

There are consumers who buy millions of products in the market every year. It is common and known to everybody that old and long-established products in the market will not attract consumers as much as they are attracted to new and innovative products. Like consumers, even products have a product life cycle. New products in the market have more demand when compared to old and long-established products. Many business companies are aware that every product has a specific lifespan. They always tend to invest more in developing new products and launching new products in the market.

In order to understand marketing strategies, it is very important for business owners to completely analyze and understand the product lifecycle.

Four stages of the product lifecycle:

Whenever a product is launched, it is very common that sales can grow or sales can remain static or sales can decline. Usually, it happens when a similar product is launched in different companies, and sales of a product depend on a customer satisfaction.

The product lifecycle has four stages, which mean different at different stages as the business tries to maintain and manage the lifecycle of each product.

1)    Introduction: The first stage is the introduction stage. This is considered as the most expensive stage for every business as they invest money to launch a new product. Since the product is new and needs time to establish its importance in the market, the sales could be low in the beginning but may increase eventually. It is expensive because the cost for research and development, consumer or user testing, and marketing that is needed to launch the product.

There are various strategies to introduce or launch a product. There are two pricing strategies available. The strategies are completely dependent upon the nature of the product as well as the competition in the market.

a)     Price Skimming: This involves introducing a product with the high price, and skimming the price as the market grows.

b)    Price Penetration: This strategy involves introducing a product at a cheaper price and slowly increasing the cost as the market grows.

2)    Growth: The growth stage involves growth in sales and profits. At this stage, the company begins to benefit from the economy as production and profit marginal. With the increase in profits, the company will be able to invest money in launching new products. With the result of this, the outlets also tend to increase.

3)    Maturity: At this stage, the product is completely established in the market and now business owners will be very cautious to maintain their share in the market. This is probably the most crucial time for business owners where they should invest wisely in the products they are going to launch.

4)    Decline: This is the last stage where the market for the product eventually declines. When this stage comes, it is business owner’s responsibility to get some profit by launching less-expensive products and cheap marketing strategies.

There are three strategies in this stage.

a)     Milking: In this strategy, the product will have very less or no marketing support. The main aim to maintain the cash flow and gain some time to adjust to the declination.

b)    Phased withdrawal: This strategy is used to replace products which are declining with the replacement products.

c)     Contracting out: This strategy is used when the product has very less marketing support and sell the product a big known company so that they can get satisfactory returns for the market they have for the product.

To plan the life of product there are many tools but of those product life cycle is the useful tool, and it also has some limitations. We cannot say every products will follow  smooth and expected way. Business cycles owns some products which will be completely tied to them and because of some factors it also effect the growth. Lets take an example, when you get admission from higher level of education with that you can easily track the financial ways. When ever there is an economic downfall, many people loose their jobs and they join in universities to get more knowledge on the courses according to their job prospective. When the financial crisis become stable again, then people will find jobs and there will be less college admissions. With this we can say when they are no necessity it mean the education will decline which is a down cycle.

In near by future, many people suggests that the there will be some work that will truly hold the industrial values but also  have their necessity for independent brands or works, which will be more likely to be experienced at higher differential.

When there is change in some thing simultaneously its effect will be shown on other things which is called life cycle. When there is a change in this it will effect the competitive situation during the times and also it has the great impact on the market which will also has the PLC by itself. There will be an period which is called the result shown program or a dramatic by keeping it down and the price will also increase and the the pictures of the sales also will be deny time for temporarily at least.
